The Lost Canvas Ep.6 — The Funeral Procession of Roses
The funeral procession of roses — that is how one might describe Albafica's sacrifice. Cornered, exhausted, his Cosmos nearly spent, the Pisces Saint makes the ultimate choice: to give himself entirely to annihilate the threat looming over the innocents he protects.
His death is staged with rare poetry in the series. The red roses falling around his motionless body form a final tribute to one who could never be touched by others. In death, he is at last surrounded — even if by petals, not by the hands of friends.
This episode is considered by fans to be one of The Lost Canvas's most heartbreaking. It perfectly illustrates the series' philosophy: even the most beautiful sacrifices carry a terrible cost, and the Holy War devours its heroes as much as its victims.
