The Lost Canvas Ep.14 — The Forest of Death
The second season opens with an immediate ordeal: a cursed forest under the influence of Hades' servants. Every tree, every shadow seems alive — and the Saints who venture into it are confronted with their deepest terrors. This is not a forest one crosses with strength; it is a forest one crosses with will.
The illusions are perfectly targeted. Every warrior sees what they fear most: losing their companions, failing in their mission, or discovering that what they are fighting for has no meaning. The forest of death is a metaphor for doubt — something Hades' Specters exploit with surgical precision.
Tenma, whose strength comes from his absolute faith in friendship and in Athena, is paradoxically the one who resists best. His sincere naivety is a shield against Hades' sophisticated illusions. Sometimes, the clarity of the heart is worth more than the complexity of the mind.
