Shunrei is a young orphan taken in and raised by Dohko of Libra, the old Gold Knight guardian of the Five Peaks of Rozan in China. She grows up in this isolated and sacred place, learning to live in the rhythm of the mountains and the wisdom of her aging guardian. It is there that she meets Shiryu, Dohko's pupil, and that a deep and sincere bond is born between them.
Shunrei does not fight. She has no armor, no cosmos, no technique. Her strength is of a different nature: absolute fidelity, unwavering tenderness, and prayers that accompany Shiryu in each of his battles. When the Dragon Knight departs for the Sanctuary, Asgard, or Poseidon's realm, Shunrei remains on the mountain, hands clasped, praying for him to survive one more time.
Her relationship with Shiryu is one of the purest in the series. Far from tumultuous passion or dramatic romanticism, it is a calm, constant love, rooted in mutual trust forged in the solitude of Rozan. Shunrei represents the stoic Shiryu's human anchor — living proof that he has something precious to defend.
