Soul of Gold Ep.9 — Saga, the Unbreakable Bond of Brothers!

Gemini Saga is one of the most complex characters in the Saint Seiya universe — a Gold Saint of extraordinary power, whose corrupted half orchestrated a thirteen-year reign of terror over the Sanctuary, and whose luminous half wept for every moment of it. His death in battle against Seiya is one of the most cathartic moments of the original series.

In Soul of Gold, Saga is resurrected alongside the others — and with him also returns Kanon, his twin brother, the other face of Gemini, whose own path was equally tortuous. Episode 9 explores their relationship in this new context: two brothers who nearly destroyed each other, who betrayed and found each other again, who must now decide what their bond means now that they have a second chance.

This is the series' most intimate episode — less focused on action than on dialogue between these two twin souls. The fraternal bond of Gemini, which in mythology represents the fundamental duality of the human being, finds here a bittersweet and deeply moving resolution.
