Ichi of the Hydra is a warrior who understands the power of the invisible. His constellation — that mythological creature that even the gods struggled to defeat, whose heads grew back more numerous after each cut — passed on to him a philosophy of combat that runs counter to what his peers advocate. Where Seiya seeks to shatter everything in an explosion of Cosmos, where Shiryu concentrates his strength in a single definitive gesture, Ichi lets his poison do the work. Patient, discreet, methodical — qualities that, in the loud world of the Bronze Knights, often go unnoticed until it is too late.
Trained on the shores of Lake Holts in Finland, in the austerity of Nordic winters where all of nature seems to hold its breath beneath the snow, Ichi developed a sensitivity to slow change. Finnish lakes gradually freeze in autumn — not all at once, but in successive layers, imperceptible until the surface is solid enough to bear a man. This is exactly the logic of Mellow Poison: an accumulation the opponent does not notice until his strength abandons him.
In the group of Bronze Knights, Ichi is the one who makes no noise. He does not claim, does not compete, does not project ambition beyond what he is. But like the Hydra of mythology, he is there, he resists, and one understands too late that one has underestimated a creature whose very survival is based on being believed defeated.
Abilities & Techniques
Mellow Poison — the cosmic venom
Ichi channels his Cosmos into an energetic venom capable of intoxicating the opponent from within. The technique is insidious: its effects are not immediate, but they accumulate, progressively paralyzing the target's combat capabilities.
Deceptive combat
Like the Hydra, a creature with multiple heads that one believes defeated each time one is severed, Ichi develops a fighting style designed to deceive expectations. He appears weaker than he is, more beaten than he is — and this art of feinting is his true advantage.
Poison resistance
Training on the shores of Lake Holts in Finland — in conditions of extreme cold and humidity — developed in Ichi a particular physiological robustness. His proximity to venom techniques also gives him partial resistance to the opponent's poisons.
Hydra's patience
Ichi is not the most explosive of Bronze fighters. He is patient, methodical, capable of absorbing damage while waiting for his Mellow Poison to do its work. This ability to play on duration and attrition is a strategy that few opponents anticipate.
Evolution
01 —Training at Lake Holts — Finland, with its frozen lakes and nights that last weeks in winter, is an unconventional training ground. Ichi developed there a combat philosophy that reflects the environment: the ice covering the lake does not give way at once — it cracks progressively, under accumulated pressure. This is exactly how Mellow Poison works.
02 —Discretion as strategy — Ichi is not one of the Bronze Knights highlighted in the great battles of the saga. But this discretion is perhaps his most effective strategy: no one prepares a specific defense against an opponent they did not anticipate. Ichi is the silent wild card of the group.
03 —The Hydra and rebirth — In mythology, the Hydra is the opponent you cannot simply kill. Each head cut off grows back two. Ichi embodies this resilience — in moments when everyone expects him to be out of the fight, he is still there, still standing, still dangerous.
