Synopsis
After the fall of the Sanctuary, Athena descended into the Underworld to confront Hades on his own ground. The Bronze Saints — Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga, Shun — follow her into the depths of the realm of the dead, refusing to let her die alone.
The Underworld is divided into three cosmic prisons with terrifying names: Judecca, Cocytus and Tartarus. Each is guarded by increasingly powerful Specters, and the Saints must cross them while exhausting their last reserves of Cosmos.
It is in Inferno that the Bronze Saints push past their ultimate limits, transcending the 7th Sense to reach the <strong style="color:var(--ss-gold);">8th Sense — the Alaya-vijnana</strong> — the only way to survive in the realm of the dead.
The three prisons of the Underworld
The first prison — a cosmic ice field where the souls of traitors are frozen for eternity. The Saints face the guardian Specters in a cold that surpasses even Hyoga's own.
The river of lamentations — a liquid prison of infernal Cosmos. It is in Cocytus that the Saints begin to reach the limits of their cosmic endurance.
The deepest prison — reserved for souls condemned to endless suffering. The guardians of Tartarus are the most powerful Specters of the Underworld, directly in service to the Judges.
