Unlike the other Black Knights, who are true doubles created in darkness, the Black Phoenix is Ikki himself — Shun's brother, returned from the hell of Death Island with black armor and a heart broken by years of suffering and manipulation. His return shatters the world of the Saints like a black comet: he does not come to protect, he comes to destroy those who, in his eyes, abandoned his brother.
But beneath the fury and darkness lies a truth even Ikki refuses to admit: the Phoenix cannot remain in darkness. His very nature — to be reborn, to surpass, to transcend — condemns him to eventually return to the light. The confrontation with Shun will not be an ending, but the beginning of a redemption no one else could have achieved: turning the most dangerous warrior of the Black Saints arc into his most precious ally.
