The Frost Path

A group of Gold Knights led by Degel descends in turn into the Inferno to support Tenma. Degel once again encounters Isaac — their unfinished duel resumes in an even more desperate context. But it is the encounter with Camus, the Gold Knight of the previous generation whose legacy Degel carries, that forms the emotional heart of this volume.

Kardia of Scorpio — the Gold Knight with a literally sick heart, burned by a cosmos too powerful for his mortal body — enters the scene. His provocative attitude and contempt for death conceal a serene acceptance of his own end. Rhadamanthus, the most powerful of the three Judges, looms on the horizon.
