The Lion's Son

The Regulus arc opens with the revelation of his childhood: son of Ilias — the living legend of the Leo House — Regulus grew up crushed by a reputation he never chose. Every monk in the Sanctuary, every Knight, every opponent sees him first as «Ilias's son» before seeing him for himself.

Ilias himself is an ambivalent figure: a loving but demanding father, aware that excessive compassion would be a disservice to a son destined to wear the Gold Armor. His training of Regulus is brutal and precise — he is not raising a son but forging a Knight. Regulus must decide whether his heritage is a prison or a foundation.
